I wanted to see the Jim Thompson House while we were in Bangkok, so we we headed over there one afternoon between one mall and another mall. (There are a lot of malls in Bangkok.)
Jim Thompson was an American entrepreneur who collected Thai buildings, art, and silks in the 1950's and 60's. He went missing in Malaysia in 1967. His home and collection was turned into a lovely museum showcasing silks, artwork, and many statues of Buddha.
I really enjoyed the tour and loved learning about Jim Thompson and his influence on Thailand. The kids did okay with the tour, but it was definitely not one of their favorites parts of the Thailand Trip.
