My favorite extra that the hotel offered was a free sunset river cruise around Hoi An. It was so beautiful! I would have taken more pictures, but sweet Oliver fell asleep on my lap half way through the boat ride. Silly guy!
The boys also enjoyed all the green space the resort offered. We played several games of tag and hide and seek!
We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Vinh Hung Riverside Resort. If you're ever in Hoi An, you should consider staying there!

Note: Vinh Hung Riverside Resort did NOT pay me to write this blog. In fact, they probably have no idea it even exists. We simply enjoyed our time there THAT much!
After coffee, we got back on our bikes and took off into the country side a little. It happened to be rice harvest season, so we were lucky enough to see the rice drying on tarps all throughout the city. We also got to see people sorting the rice and caught a few glimpses of actual harvesting!
Owen was on the back of my bike, and he kept talking about how green everything was and how much cleaner Hoi An is compared to Saigon. He really enjoyed learning where rice comes from and watching the people working.
Right down the street from our amazingly awesome hotel was a cool little shop that offered kayak and canoe rentals. They did tours too, but we just rented a Canadian Canoe for a couple hours and paddled around the Thu Bon River.
Owen was very excited to be able to paddle all by himself, and Oliver simply loved that every time he leaned over the edge the entire boat dipped to his side. It was a lovely morning, and a great activity for kids--though I'm not sure Derek would agree as he had to do most of the rowing!
