Year 3 in Abu Dhabi

Here we are. Fifty-six flights later for the boys and entering our fifth year of international education. It's not the life we had planned, but we aren't changing it any time soon. We love living internationally.

Owen started THIRD grade this year. We adore his teacher and can't wait to see how much he grows. He is looking forward to the school year and is eager to get back into soccer and swimming.

Oliver is now in KG2, which is traditional KINDERGARTEN in America. He was beyond ready to get started. He is such an independent little dude, and scoffed at the idea that we felt we needed to be there to see him to his classroom on the first day. If it was up to him, he would have walked from my classroom all by himself. No kindergarten tears in our family!

I am expanding my teaching a bit this year by taking on the Higher Level Math course as well as dipping my toes into teaching science. I have two sections of 10th grade physics this year, and I am loving it!

Derek an I also celebrated our tenth anniversary at the beginning of the school year. It's hard to believe we've been married for a decade already because it seems like just yesterday we were still in college, hanging out at The Thirsty Parrot. I can't wait to see where we are ten years from now.
