Derek and I have started having more clothing made here in Saigon because it's cheaper to have clothes made than it is to buy ready-made clothing that fits our giant Western bodies. We are searching for a tailor we really like, but in the mean time, we have learned that it is best to purchase your own fabric as most of the tailor shops do not have a large selection of choices.
We made our way to Fabric Street this morning to select a few fabrics for some things we are going to have copied. I bought fabric for a couple of work dresses, and Derek found fabric for several dress shirts and a pair of slacks. There was one giant market with lots of individuals selling slightly different things, and then across a fairly busy street was a row of individual shops. We liked the individual shops better because they were less chaotic.
There was a lot to choose from, and I was glad I had pinned what I wanted on Pinterest!
