As February draws to a close, I realized that I hadn't written a post in a while. February is traditionally a very busy month for educators, and this year has been no exception. While we haven't done anything big enough to make me stop a write a post, we have managed to keep rather busy. As usual.
Derek has been kept very busy with his live streaming duties. He broadcasted the soccer tournament one weekend and will be doing a huge international choir event next weekend. He has dedicated a lot of energy to that program, and the results speak for themselves. He even has CNN coming in to the school to work with his students!
Owen has continued playing lots of soccer, joined the swim team, and presented with his class at the elementary school's International Day assembly. Oliver has stayed busy with swimming lessons, Lego club, and Capoeira lessons. They both have pretty active schedules!
I have continued working on my master's degree, tried to keep up with grading (especially all those IA's), and worked on booking all of the flights and accommodations needed for our upcoming trip to Sri Lanka and our summer travels. I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all lately, but that tends to happen every year around this time.
Even with everything else going on, we've still been able to do some fun things with the kids. When Derek was busy live-streaming soccer a few weeks ago, I took the boys to a beach club to watch the filming of the Red Bull air races. The weather was spectacular, and it was incredibly relaxing to watch the kids play in the water while having cocktails with my friends.
Then, last weekend, Derek took the boys to an indoor mini golf place to give me time to finish a final paper for a course... and grade.
Spring Break is fast approaching. Before we head off to Sri Lanka, we will have another round of conferences, reports, and mock exams. The year is going by quickly, and before we know it, it'll be June, and we'll be off to London!
