Ollie is a ball of energy. He has a ready smile and has the ability to make everyone he meets fall in love with him. He is one of the most charismatic kids I have ever met!
His favorite color continues to be orange, and I highly doubt that will ever change. That being said, he also likes "all the colors" because Ollie is just not the type to dislike anything. Well, anything but bedtime. He still doesn't sleep well, but there have been improvements lately. I know he'll sleep through the night some day.
Dinosaurs have also become very big at the Swanson house. Oliver can name a whole bunch of them on sight and has become fascinated with the show Dinosaur Train. I bought him a dinosaur field guide in Bangkok, and he has been studying his dinosaurs nearly every day. He has become quite fond of books. In fact, his favorite book is Mr. Nonsense. Because he's Oliver. He insists on "reading" that book to me and Owen almost every single night. He has the plot memorized on pictures alone.
I have no idea how much Oliver weighs or how tall he is right now because everything here is done in metric and those numbers just don't stick with me yet. Also, well-checks aren't really a thing in Vietnam, so the kids only see the doctor if they are pretty sick. All I know is that he eats well (with plenty of veggies) and seems to be developing at a normal pace. He's healthy and happy--which is all that really matters.
Oliver has become very good at traveling since he turned three. He now even carries his own small backpack on the plane! Since turning three in December, Oliver has been to Krabi, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hoi An, and Mui Ne. The trips keep getting easier and easier with him, and I love hearing him talk about the memories he has of our adventures. His favorite trip over the last six months was the one we took over the Tet holiday to Chiang Mai, Thailand. He still talks about feeding an elephant and meeting an orange monk!
Oliver is a confident little boy who is very passionate about life. He can be a little on the cheeky side, but can also be the sweetest kid you've ever met. He will tell me he loves me completely unprompted and usually when I need to hear it the most. Ollie gives great hugs and loves to cuddle. He is an adventure seeker and has no trouble trying new things. He adores swimming and much prefers the idea of possibly sinking to being stuck in his floaties.
I can't wait to see what the next six months have is store for our little dude!
